Leo and Michelle Gaertner, Owners

Leo's Italian Grill is owned and operated by Leo Gaertner and his wife, Michelle.  Leo began his passion for cooking at the age of 10, when his Grandpap taught him how to bake homemade bread.  Starting off as a grill cook, and working his way up to Sous Chef and Executive Chef, Leo learned all types of cuisine, but his favorite was Italian.  He then moved to the front of the house and worked as a General Manager of several different concepts.  These steps were part of his dream to eventually open his own restaurant.  With Michelle's help, they opened Leo's Italian Grill in May, 2019.   Serving the Cedar Creek/Bastrop community and those stopping for a meal while traveling through has been a joy.  Leo and Michelle are full of gratitude for the support they have received from the community.  Leo also offers catering services, which are not limited to only Italian cuisine.  Whether it's a party for 20 people or a banquet for 500 people, Leo can make it happen! With a scratch kitchen, the freshest ingredients, and a great chef, you won’t walk away disappointed!
